(Declaration on information obligation)

The protection of your personal data is very important to us. Therefore we process your data exclusively on the basis of the legal regulations (GDPR). In this privacy policy we inform you about the data processing of our website.

If you contact us by e-mail, your data will be stored for processing the request and for follow-up questions up to 10 years. If we see no need for storage, we can delete this data at any time. We will not share this data without your consent.

Data Storage (General)

Log Files

Please note that as part of the normal operation of a website, your IP address will be saved in log files. These are deleted automatically after a certain time (a few weeks).

Cookies

Web Analytics

We do not use external web analysis tools (e.g. Google Analytics) and do not share your information (IP address, etc.) with external services.

Social Media

We do not share your information (IP address, etc.) with social media services (e.g. Facebook)

Data storage of logged in users

Our website allows EVU members to sign up to have access to an exclusive section of the site (Members Area). EVU members can also voluntarily provide their contact details in this section (Peoples Register - see menu item "People" on the start page).

Unless otherwise stated, the same conditions apply as under "Data Storage (General).

Necessary Data for Access in the Members Area

To provide access the members area we need the following data:

  • E-mail address1
  • Username (freely selectable - no traceability required)
  • Password (stored encrypted)

Peoples Register

Under the menu item "people" you see the peoples register of the site.

Registered users find their data under the menu item "Own Information".

All information in the peoples register is voluntary2!

Do not enter data in EVUonline.org that you do not want published2. In particular, do not disclose sensitive personal information!

Possible entries in the peoples register are:

  • First and last name, academic title
  • E-mail adress1
  • postal address
  • Photo
  • Telephone number
  • Employer
  • Webpage
  • Further information

Editing the Data

Country group boards and other authorized persons of the EVU can register, edit or delete members.

We reserve the right to check the entered data and to correct it in individual cases.

If a member is deleted by a country group board or another authorized person of the EVU, the data will only be marked as "inactive". A final deletion must be requested from the administrator or takes place after longer inactivity.

Reason: Accidental deletions are very common!

Notification via E-Mail (Individuals)

As part of the operation of the site, there are always cases in which individual members must be notified by e-mail.

Since this is unavoidable, there is no way to turn this feature off.

Notification via E-Mail (Groups of Members, Circulars)

A few times a year it is necessary to contact the members of the EVU by e-mail regarding changes, registration deadlines or other important information (circulars). It is particularly not advertising.

It is assumed that the members of the EVU also want to receive these informations (circulars). You can unsubscribe from this mailing list (opt-out).

Log Files and Black List

Faulty login attempts are logged by us to identify abusive use (hacking attempts) of the website.

We reserve the right to completely block the access of certain IP addresses in case of misuse (black list).

Service Provider, Contractor (External)

To support and operate the website, a provider is necessary. In addition, the EVU can delegate external supervisors (administrators).

These external contractors are subject to the GDPR. An agreement of the members with a change of these contractors is not intended.

Your Rights

Information, correction, deletion, restriction, etc.

In principle, you have the rights to information, correction, deletion, restriction, data portability, revocation and opposition.

If a request is made by e-mail, we usually check to identify the member by matching the e-mail address to the e-mail address known to us. If in doubt, we reserve the right to verify the identity of the member in another form.

In the case of a request using a medium other than the e-mail, we reserve the right to verify the identity of the member in an appropriate form.

Violations

The implementation of the GDPR in the countries of the EVU country groups may vary due to opening clauses. If you notice any relevant deviations from the GDPR of your country or notice other deficiencies in the data protection policy of the EVU, we kindly ask you to inform us immediately.

If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law or your data protection claims have otherwise been violated, you can of course complain to the supervisory authority.
